G-roc was formed in the late summer of 2006 when a mutual friend Dillon Dilly P Luttrell , who also started Beat Farm Produce Knoxville, TN , introduced the three members in his south Knoxville, TN studio/home. The chemistry was so evident Davidson drums quit his Asheville, NC based band of eight years almost immediately. Southside Mark keys/synths called off a upcoming wedding engagement, and 4matiks put his solo production career on hold to focus more on the band. Four months later the band has over four hours of original music along with many covers they picked up along the way. In the four months that the band has been been around they have also played a handfull of local shows in Knoxville including opening spots for The Pnuma Trio and Toubab Krewe at the World Grotto and most recently a headlining act on a Friday night at Knoxville s Blue Cat s Nightclub.
